Japan’s average household spending on seafood in 2014 was JPY 79,465 (€591.10/$661.10), an increase of 1 percent year-on-year, in part a reflection of pressure on seafood prices.
Salmon -- both farmed salmon and wild salmon -- sits among the top of Japanese dinner plates, as do mainstays such as tuna, squid, surimi and shrimp.
